Official test proceedure for Valeo radiator issue.

Cool thanks

So is mine ok then.

yours was made in 06/2003 and the fault was present upto 09/2003 so yours could be at risk, look at your radiator and try to match it up to this image.

Oh maybe not!

Looking at this logically and stop me if I'm wrong. These seals that failed would have failed a few years ago and my car is 12.5 (ish) years old with 67k miles on the clock. so safe to say that mine either has been done or wasn't effectived by this?

Just because its not leaked yet, does not mean it wont. check what you have or get a competent Indie to check for you. Cheaper to replace the rad than the T/C

Oh well.

Thanks for your help I'm off to the garage soon.

I'm pretty sure EIS is a euros own brand, I would avoid.

Behr/hella is OE on a lot of cars, should be fine.

Hello i think i got orginal valeo in my 03, w203, c270. (VALEO sticker on radiator)

Serial WDB2030161A52....

Is it bad? Everything still working well after 137 000 km. I was thinkin about glykol tests...

No, it's a new post in an old thread...

3mbush, if your engine is an OM612.990 and you have a 722.6 transmission, your car might be at risk. Personally, though, I would not worry even if it might; if the problem has not appeared after 137,000 km, either the radiator has been replaced with the modified Valeo item that MB released to prevent the fault happening, or it is unlikely to go wrong after so long and so many kilometres.

Sorry to bring up an old thread again but can anyone confirm if this is a Valeo radiator or not? Car is a January 2004 but I can't find any stickers stating the make of radiator or part number.

Looks like a Valeo, from what I remember the crimping of the metal to the plastic is different.
The Valeo is crimped around like yours where the Behr is not.

100% change that, i've done 5 now lol, and i still think its a horrible job but worth doing.

It was a Valeo, had to remove it to confirm though as the branding is on the side of ymtge sticker at the top fades:

Now replaced with a Nissens one!

Your instinct was correct, and a wise move to change it, as least now no more " is it / isn't it" job now done and dusted and should you sell it you have a receipt to add to its provenance. I dare say on a 2004 car though, it has lasted well.

Having sat here for 10 mins trying to solve the "anagram" ymtge. I reckon it could be "my rad as the" . Answers on a postcard please.

Steve.

You are correct, not sure what happened there with my typing...can't edit it now either!
