Having joined the forum a couple of months ago and after a lot of searching and a few posts on here for help (thanks to all the helpful replies) I am officially a new owner of a money pit W163 ML270CDI Inspiration 
. Its an 03, 7 seat model, so is an old girl with a few known problems, that I'm gradually sorting myself (already fixed a load of niggles for free, or cheap through e-bay (the advantage of having such an old car- and plenty of scrappers), she needs a little tarting up bodywise and will be in the body shop soon for a delicate pampering 
.
Hopefully there are no major problems waiting for me but no doubt they will come in time. She has been checked out by my local indie, and he feels I have got a good buy, and can't see any major issues (only time will tell)
So no longer a searcher, now an owner, looking forward to asking loads of tips and questions on the no doubt numerous niggles that will start cropping up, and look forward to hearing your vast experience.
