Hi Ogii,

Forgot to ask you the last time, where did you get the W211 exhaust tips from? Is it from the UK?

Please share!

I found a site for Schatz which will cost me 169 Euros plus postage for my E320. Does it sound reasonable compared to yours?

It was from somewhere in Canada I believe.

There are two types you can get, the type Ogii has which are a type of bracket which look like this:

Or this type which are solid:

They give very similar results

or

By the time you've paid shipping from Canada and import duty that price sounds about right. I think Ogii paid about £100 plus the import duty.

I'm very tempted to get some.

You gonna get them Richard?

You gonna get them Richard?

Grav888 on this forum was going to get some in stock but that never happened. I keep meaning to order some but never get round to it, if I find somewhere in the UK selling them for a good price I probably will. I am worried it may look too boy racer.

I have written to Schatz for further details of these tips before I bought them and thay have replied thus: -

Wonder if we could get a group buy discount.

Why don't you ask them Richard, but I would like to be sure that they fit our cars before I buy. Bit far to go to see them.

I've sent them an email and asked about a club discount.

Guy

Richard's right - got them on ebay from a seller in Canada specialising in Merc and BM parts. Can't find the details off hand but I'll see if I can dig anything out.

From memory it worked out about £140 with shipping, tax, duty etc but got a free AMG boot badge:D

The Jury's still out in my mind about whether my type or the others are best - the others look a bit "cut off", i.e. you can see that they don't go anywhere whereas mine just continue the line of the pipe, only problem is mine look like bolt ons if you get your head down and look! In general day to day circumstances they look fine.

Bottom line to me is that they look better with than without, it's a shame to have twin pipes and not flaunt them:D

Want any more info, just shout.

Cheers
OG

Depending on how much Richard I might be up for this, try the others then decide on which ones I prefer, ebay the others.

This is the response I got:
Dear
thank you for your inquiry. We have been advertising in the Mercedes Benz club gazette since 1986 when I first started the company, we still generally have a bi-monthly half page !
regarding the W211 exhaust trims, we do keep a set in stock suitable for the latest diesel models , the 320 petrol uses a different part number which we can quickly obtain as we generally have a stock order from Germany every 10 days. We would normally offer these for £119.70+vat but if you can order 3 or more each time could reduce the price by a further 5%, ie £113.69 each +vat. Carriage per set adds £8+vat to each separate address or we can send 3 of them all together to one address for £10+vat.
So what I am saying is a one-off order will cost you £150.05 including both delivery and Vat, while a 3 off order will cost either £142.99 each if delivered to 3 separate addresses, or £412.51 if we send all three together to the same place

Best regards
Tim

Schatz v PP

Richard,

The thread you recommended to read from MBworld did say that the Schatz ones were not as good as the PP ones. As I gather, SVS gets theirs from Schatz, am I not correct?

Maybe PP ones are the ones to go for??

I read that this morning too which has put me off a bit. I've sent another email asking what type they have in stock and also sent him the details of the PP one's to see if they can source them.
