Jaguar UK - PROJECT C-X75

Following the success of the C-X75 concept car we are delighted to announce that we will now launch it as an exclusive hybrid production supercar in 2013. This will be realised through an exciting collaboration with the world respected Williams F1 organisation and built in the UK.

The credentials for this groundbreaking car speak for themselves:
- Supercar performance and CO2 emissions under 99g/km
- All electric running range in excess of 50 km (30 miles)
- Direct technology transfer from top level motorsport
- Downsized boosted petrol engine with one powerful electric motor at each axle
- 0-100mph in less than 6 seconds
- Top speed in excess of 200mph
- Prices from 700,000 GBP depending on local market and taxes
- A limited production run of 250 cars
- Targa and Coupe versions

I just hope it proves to be a better car than their last "limited edition supercar" - the compromised XJ220.

What happened to the promised gas turbines? Cop out.

That was ruled-out almost as quickly as it was ruled-in.

But Tata bought shares in Bladon Jets. I assumed the reason was to provide them for this car. Looking at the available info on Bladon though, there's no clue as to how the turbines drive genarators. Just more hot air from the manufacturers?

On display at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb

The Jaguar XJ13 was a prototype racing car developed by Jaguar to challenge at Le Mans in the mid-1960s. (Engine size was changed and limited to a max of 3 litres at Le Mans while this car was being built - this is 5 litres). It never raced, and only one was ever produced. The car has not been officially valued, but a £7 million bid for it was declined by the owners in 1996.

£700,000 for the C-X75 doesn't sound to bad compared to this.
