How do you measure 'good' with such products?

Isn't it cheaper and also recommended by the OEM to just buy the correct specification oil in the first instance?
 
Don't bother.

All these things are variations on EP (Extreme Pressure) additives which do very well in terms of certain tests on direct metal on metal wear, i.e. when the lubrication film has broken down.

Modern oils need to do a damn sight more than that, so you are better off spending the money on quality full synthetic oils that you change on a more frequent basis.
