Oil change in Kwick-fit?

Thanks for the info

I did the oil change with kwickfit in Portobello Edinburgh, they said they put the fully synthetic in it, 25 quids only... Couldn't even buy the oil at that price. I might change the oil filter as I have a genuine mercedes spare part but I need a tool to open the canister.
That was a good happy day :)

What a useless magazine and forum whatdiesel is. Many years ago this used to be Diesel car magazine which was full of useful technical articles and proper road tests.
Because it was a specialist mag it was allowed privileges and allowed significant inside information. A nice example was in 1998, test driving a mule W210 400CDi and an in depth report on the technology.
After being sold to another publishing company it became a terrible mag only running previously published articles and manufacturer marketing material, which it attempted to pass off as road tests.
None of the staff or writers had ANY diesel knowledge or experience and none had a technical background. Most had never even driven a diesel car...

This was slightly irking when they had just got people to renew their three year subscriptions.

Sadly the forum is as uninformative, as this piece demonstrates.

That was a good deal, as the 300TD takes 7.5 litres of oil.
You only need a standard socket for the oil filter cover.

"but I need a tool to open the canister."

Not sure about your car, but the MB special tool for the M104 canisters (which also works on M103 spin-on filters) was only about £10 when I bought it four years ago (part MW103 589 02 09/00).
