Just as luck would have it, put car up for sale, had it serviced only to find out it's leaking oil from the back bottom of the engine. Using a scope it was determined to be coming from the Oil cooler area.
The seals were done in Nov 2018 at around 100k and were replaced with the new purple seals. I was under the impression that this would be the end of it!
Obviously not!
Maybe I might get lucky and the AA will contribute under their Parts and Garage Cover, if so they'll cough up £500.
Wish me luck!

Good luck! First time I've heard of them, going again, once done. That's bl00dy unlucky. 🙁

Have you any experience with aftermarket oil coolers? Not sure I want to shell out £200+ for MB if I'm not keeping the car for long

Sorry no, when I had mine done, it was all genuine parts. Done by my indie. Because I was gonna keep it. Which I did for a couple more years. But have since sold it.
But, if it's just being done, to sell it. Go as cheap as possible. You don't even have to get a new oil cooler, you can just replace the seals. Even with cheaper parts, or just seals, it's not gonna leak again for years, if at all. And then quite frankly, it won't be your problem.

Thanks for that - I'm curious how an oil cooler can fail if it does - it seems like a piece of metal - I cannot see how this would fail unless it gets misshaped somehow?
I'll just get the seals done and ask for the oil / coolant to be reused as these were only changed this week!

It's not the oil cooler that fails, it's the seals, I think, and the cost of the job is almost all labour, not parts, isn't it? You can't do it 'on the cheap'.

Labour wise no, there's no way around that. But just get the seals done, no need to get a new oil cooler.
When I got mine done, I got other new parts fitted, which was recommended as it was in bits anyway. But weren't actually necessary. So am just saying, as he's selling it, go for as cheap as absolutely, possible. 🙂👍

Yes indeed - half of me is tempted to keep it and get the inlet manifold cleaned whilst they are out. Need new front rubbers so would be shelling out the best part of £1.7k with servicing, oil cooler seals and tyres
