The car has started puffing a bit of blue smoke on cold starts and I've noticed oil pooling quite badly on the intake side of the turbo. Is the oil separator/breather known to play up on these? (I had similar probs on a BMW E39 and it was the PCV)

Otherwise it surely must be the turbo seals. The turbo spins very freely, the bearings feel as new.

I took things apart and loads of oil is making it's way from the oil separator to the turbo. A genuine replacement part is £130 (can't find aftermarket) which seems pretty outrageous for what it is - is it possible to clean out the old part & would that help?

Cheers

If the PVC is blocked , oil will get in to the engine and be burnt giving you the smoke ot the rear pipe .

Forked out for a new one. I can't see a way to clean it out.

Will probably have to whip the inlet manifold off sometime soon as I bet it's caked now. Yay! Is this a nightmare job?

can i ask please on my c220 w204 i have the same issue bit of blue on cold start.. could this be the issue on this one as well..??
