I need one. i probably won't have a choice on which one but has anyone tried one and it worked ? I think the leak is from behind the timing belt so its a major operation to find and sort. I will try a sealer first.

Have used leak sealers on old cars and the work quite well. New can of sealer will be required when you change the oil.

Well i put bardahl leak seal in today. I hope it works because the oil seems to be coming from behind the crank shaft timing pulley !! Give it a week it says.

It does take a little time for the seals to swell.

Why don't you just replace the seal?

vw bora 1.9 tdi and its the seal right at the crank pulley end. my golf timing belt hopped and basically destroyed my head 3 days after i replaced 6 valves. I am a little, just a little, scared to touch the new cars timing. And so the seal may wait a while hence the need for sealer. No car = no work = no money and a very cross wifey

Well that did not seem to work so on to Novastop eco green or something its called.... further reports on this later
