Afternoon all,

Was replacing my drop links today and with the car up on stands I noticed an oil deposit on one of the large pipes right at the front of the car on the drivers side (right hand drive) also the lowest point of the car.

I’ve tried to trace it from the top of the engine bay but really can’t see anything. It doesn’t actually leak, as in drip to the floor but could anyone help with anything in this area that I should be looking at which could cause this.

Sorry should have said 2011 c class with OM651 engine.

That is an intercooler hose, which is probably split on the upper part, where you can’t see, if so you’re probably losing power with a boost leak.

Thank you for the reply. That would make sense. I’ve only had the car a short time and have felt it’s a little sluggish. Put that down to being the lowest output om651.

I’ll order a new hose. Am I right in thinking that there is usually a small amount of oil in the intercooler hose from the turbo?

Yep.....my Alfa never stopped seeping from there for very long no matter what I did to seal it....and like yours, it never actually dripped to the ground....just wet.

There isn’t always an engine light, depends on the size of the leak.
