🙁. Puddle on drive way …. Apparently has been going for a long time and finally breached the undertray. My car service guys in Stockport say the leak is coming from the back of the engine. …. Oh my !
I need to get it seen too.

E350 cdi 2011.
not even done 60k.

It may well be the oil cooler seals that have gone, my 2010 leaked just the same. The seals are cheap enough, I think specialists recommend a new cooler at the same time....then there's lots of labour unfortunately! My bill from BJ Mason, a Sheffield indy, was around £800 in total - parts list attached.

Update !

Yes I got the car done at SPR, They are expensive but did a lot of other things including changing the oil cooler out. A lot was done and the service can not be faulted. As I was collecting mine off the ramp an identical car was going on to be inspected an both me and the mechanic both in fact saw the very same symptoms …. Good job done.

Here you will see what was changed out gaskets, oil cooler( not sure if this was necessary but hey ), a number of seals and some actuator of adjuster I forget. I should be worry free.

If it was your rear main seal, the transmission had to be removed to access seal back of the engine, time consuming and costs a lot to replace.

Thankfully it went... Quit rare for RMS to go on these, but the oil cooler seals ..... regular do, . When picking up an identical Class of same vintage was driven into the same bay and the guy who did ours took me underneath and we bet that it was the same exact issue and sure enough all the tell tail signs .... big oil puddle in under tray ... are around RMS oily

My seals has never been replaced in tranny oil cooler nor transmission seals nor engine oil cooler seals and my car is 24 years old.
For many years when doing annual engine oil service I have been using seal saver Omega 917, this year's service I had Omega put in the tranny and diferential.

This super lubracant, use a few percentage of this additive and pour it in the engine with the new oil.
Also can be mixed with tranny oil and differential oil.

If you don't have more leaks on the other drive components, Omega 917 is great buy !!
A future investment avoiding steep repair costs
