Mercedes specialist based in Manchester required

🙁. Puddle on drive way!

Apparently has been going for a long time and finally breached the undertray. My car service guys in Stockport say the leak is coming from the back of the engine.
I need to get it seen too.

E350 cdi 2011.

It’s likely oil cooler seals. Cheap part, a days worth of labour I’m afraid.

I seem to have developed a leak on my C220 too. A few dark marks on my driveway which I blamed the son in law's tatty old Peugeot for, however, there are now more puddles and obviously it is the Merc - I took it to a German car workshop to have a warning light checked and not related. I mentioned the oil leak and he said he thought it was from a tatty looking car he had in the workshop and when I mentioned I thought it was mine he immediately mentioned the oil cooler without looking. He said he hated doing them so was not keen to do it anyway.

Anyone know anywhere in the Sunderland area who might do it and not take my remaining kidney?

Thanks...
Who can be trusted?

I will not be bankrupted by MB
I'm in the same position. Took it to Mercedes Teesside for diagnosis, its a 2010 E350, they charge £175 an hour, guy basically rang and said take it somewhere else, that by the time they clean the engine, confirm exactly where the leak is and fix it, the bill would be more than the cars worth. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Stans Auto repairs South Shields got a few mentions on a different post as being a good place to go

Ok guys …. Update !
I got the car done at SPR of Stockport near Manchesterr, They are expensive but did a lot of other things including changing the oil cooler out. A lot was done and the service can not be faulted. As I was collecting mine off the ramp an identical car was going on to be inspected an both me and the mechanic both in fact saw the very same symptoms …. Good job done.

Here you will see what was changed out gaskets, oil cooler( not sure if this was necessary but hey ), a number of seals and some actuator of adjuster I forget. I should be worry free.

that engine eventually blows the oil coolant gasket somehow, on ours it mixed coolant with oil :D
Eventually the timing chain will go off. I was surprised with these issues on a 60k mile car

Spr are very expensive almost close to main dealer prices!

OMP 64 not too bad, I have had 3 of these since 2007. This is the first time I have had a problem having had 4 classes from new. I will say that MB sold me a bit of a lemon. Bought the car with 33k miles in 2019. The reason it was cheap is that we chased a discrepancy in the MOT milage logs back to Bromley MB. SDo everything was ticketyboo. During the lockdown this car did not get much usage ....THEN all the blemishes they had hidden started to show.... The paint was sagging (Literally sagging) and you could see that a horrible paint shop repair was don on the rear quarter near side/.... my blood boils. The oil seal rings I can put up with (it is a recognised fault). but the duplicity makes me angry. It was a god deal with 33-36k miles on the clock in 19 at £11.5k but it will cost at least 800 to put this paint job right. Bad taste in the mouth.
