Car
Mercedes GLA
After my previous posts re servicing or lack of it!
Removed the lower tray to do an oil change found some evidence of an oil leak and a drip coming from the hole in the bellhousing
The oil leak wasn’t serious but enough for concern
The car is a 2017 GLA 220d 4matic 23000 miles
Has been serviced by main dealer and not mentioned presume this might be the first time lower panel removed .
I am thinking rear crank oil seal it’s definitely engine oil
Bad after such low mileage and out of warranty no idea how long it’s been like that
Worried it is going to get worse or possibly fail on the motorway !,
I’m sure an expensive repair gearbox out job
Any similar experiences and advice would be appreciated

Before touching anything else and on such a new car I would speak to MB first , after all its low mileage as well

I’m going to chop it in !
Had enough of it
It’s just going to be a money pit
Watford Mercedes are just rubbish
When I first got it there was a noise pulling away and the tyre was scrubbing out
Told me there was nothing wrong with it
I then met an employee at a classic car show who told me they had a problem with the 4 matic gearbox and they were changing them under warranty
Fobbed me off every time
I still stand by my first posts about servicing not been carried out
In 30 years of professional car repairs I can count on one hand how many crank rear seals I’ve replaced mainly on high mileage Fords !
Thanks for your comment
