Oil Recommendation for CLK 270 CDI

Can anyone recommend a decent oil for a CLK 270 CDI, that provides good value for money?

I was looking on the internet yesterday for some and the one recommended for my car is 5W-30, which seems to be more expensive than 5W-40. Shell do one called "Shell Helix Ultra Extra 5W/30" which costs £68.15 for six litres and Castrol have one called "Castrol Edge 5W/30" which costs £61.10 for four litres.

Does anyone know of any other oils that will be of a similar quality but a bit cheaper?

Also how much will I need for an oil change?

Try Opie Oils....they will give you good advice and you should also be able to get members discount from them.....I use Shell Helix in my C270, but only as I got a good bulk deal...

If you want to save on postage costs then you could visit your local branch of GSF.

From the Opie website it also recommends:
Fuchs TITAN SUPERSYN 5W-40 High Performance, Fully Synthetic, Engine Oil

GSF sell the same oil for £16.50 (4 litres), which I bought for my car only this week.

Get it from Costco if you can: £20 plus VAT for four litres.

Halfords 5w30 full synthetic diesel specific. About £30 for five litres. Its in my C220 cdi.
