Hi all,
Have had my CLK55 for a week now and today whilst sitting in a traffic jam the oil temp warning came on. It returned to normal after a while as the jam cleared. When I got home I checked the engine oil level which was spot on the middle of the dipstick. Need I worry about this? Needless to say I will be keeping a close eye on any future warnings.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Mac

check engine oil again when engine is COLD; top up as necessary

Get it serviced.

Replace the oil/air filter and change the oil to mobil1 and then moniter.

Have it booked in for Tuesday.
Garage said that since the oil level and pressure did not show anything disconcerting that the fault was probably an electrical fault and not neccesarily that the oil was overheating.
Still it is due for a service in 3K miles so decided to bring it forward at the same time.
Mac.
