Am I getting paranoid?
I'm pretty sure I broke the PCV valve diaphragm trying to test it
What could happen if I started the engine, would it runaway, or just leak oil?
The valve works by having atmospheric pressure on one side and a vacuum created by the turbo keeping it closed until the pressure in the camshaft cover is high enough to open it.
