OM602 valve cover breather

I found this when looking for what the mystery hole does,as it's called in the article.
Now I'm wondering is it blocked on my engine, I can't look into it and shine a light down it, unless the light and my eye are in the same place, should I use a thin plastic rod.....

Well, I used a strip of rubber and I was able to feed it in about 5cm.
