Im about to enter the exciting sphere of glow plug removal :wallbash: and so I had a thought... as you do
Would the glow plugs last longer if you were able to to put a switch in the circuit so as to stop them cycling on / off when the engine was hot?
I'm trying to get Beru plugs and a reamer ;also some copper based anti seize. Maybe new fuel hoses and viton o-rings
The fuel pump is covered in oil and road grime so an injector pump seal kit?
I took the tank out and cleaned it with oven cleaner. She...Ava. .. ( avant-garde )is running on veg oil now
    Cheers from Australia

Yes, it has been thought of and done. Clean out the inlet manifold as well as reaming out the carbon in the pre-chamber.
