Om642 fuel filter

Hi, I have a 2010 cls 350 cdi in need of a fuel filter but have come to understand that there are 2 types. With or without water censor. How do I know which I’ll need without removing the one that’s on ?

if your old filter has plug connected to middle of filter, you have sensor.

Thats not a water sensor. Its a heater. ECP do them for your car, just give them a call and they will look up the correct one for you.

But sure water sensor is there, my linked picture may be wrong and there can be heater included... but water sensor is put mid of filter too.

Not on that engine. Sprinters and Vito's had them on their smaller engines.

Oh yes that is probably true, mention of my post was show OP where the water sensor is if it exists. I just did fast google and didn't check is it just heater element or water sensor or which engine it is used. Like you said EPC or shop that verifies parts by EPC should be always used to be sure when ordering parts.
