Hi, does anyone have an idea if the plastic batwing on the OM642 engine (W211 E280cdi) can be bought in sections?
I have a crack in mine on the cylindrical section which clamps to the turbo and houses the oil breather pipe. The rest of it is perfect. It seems a shame to throw out a perfectly good air mass meter and spend the money for a new one if I can replace the 2inch part which looks removable.
Also, I briefly considered a 'plastics repair' but due to its proximity to the intake turbine I quickly ruled this out.
