OM651 fuel filter

I am gathering stock of items (genuine merc wherever possible) ready to give my local indie ready for a service.

I'm stuck at the fuel filter though, is it easy to check if I have a heater element fitted? Can i tell from the VIN code? I'm not with the car now, Is it a case of lifting the engine cover next week and it's obvious?

OE part number is A 651 090 28 52, same as on my car (with the heater element fitted).

have just ordered a similar fuel filter with the heater element and also oil filter from gsf
prices vary wildly
got both for

now to get some correct spec oil on a special deal somewhere

I bought they genuine Mercedes oil filter for £11.40, and the fuel filter mann wk 820/17 for £42, including vat & delivery.

Genuine Mercedes oil was a lot cheaper then I expected @ £38 for 10L delivered.

Was that from your local MB dealer, or online via one of the few dealers with eBay shops?

Mercedes-Benz of Newcastle seem to be very active with online sales.
