Can these be changed without locking up the engine ? Is it as simple as removing the old one and sticking the new one in because I have a rattle somewhere once the engine is hot and I want to rule the chain out. The rattle is sometimes almost not there and other times loud and seems to be on the drivers side near the turbo area but I can't find where it is coming from and sounds like a heat shield rattle. It's been like this for 4yrs and I have done 30k with it like this so not to worried but I would like to get it sorted out. The oil gets changed every 6k to try and stop the chain from stretching.
