Lol , I didn't known that , I disabled mine as it would do a screaming double gear drop on a engine that makes peak torque 1600-1800 rpm and peak power 4250 rpm and even more pointless as peak power is now at 3500 .

Now only drops one gear .

Throttle pedal lag cure .

How did you disable your kick down please? It's the only thing I really dislike about my w204. I just don't get why it wants to rev so high where there's no power. Can the kick down be disabled without forking out for one of these pedal tuning boxes?

Disabling WOT double gear kickdown outerspace revs is nothing to do with these throttle controllers .

Simply add a small strip of firm 10mm thick foam to the pedal base to limit travel thus not trigger WOT kickdown . I trialled first then stuck in place with a silicone adhesive sealant .

I got the idea from these BMW examples .

Horrendous lag.

It's also a manual, and they opted to keep the same pedal for the manual as they have the auto - so I have "kickdown" on the pedal.
Ive had a cla 220d shooting brake from new 2018 manual no lag no delay and kickdown?? Lost me 🤔

It's all in the ecu programming later cars less likely to have it .

I found this with two Audi's both with 2.0 tdi and S-tronic gearboxes , 11 plate has bad drive by wire pedal lag the 14 plate did not .

In Gaz's car they kept to one same auto accerator pedal design that had WOT kickdown at the end of it's travel , obviously it doesn't work .

Interesting idea. The embarrassing 2-gear kickdown on WOT has my poor little C180 1.6 screaming its nuts off way past the peak torque revs. It's the reason I tend to keep the gearbox in sport mode; you generally seem to only get a one gear drop when you floor it.

On my car, kickdown pushes you up to around the 5-5500rpm mark. The graph says it all........

Lol , ideal table top linear torque you should have there .

When mine decides to ignore a flappy up change it goes to a pointless 4700 , peak is 4250 and torque drops from just 2000 .

Made all the worse now as peak power is 3500 .

You've got 250 Nm , guess what I have .

Yes , none .

Hot egr inert gasses are bad for diesel compression combustion that causes incomplete fuel molecule combustion .

The hot egr gasses can even burn through the OM651's plastic inlet manifold !

Other benefits too .

Full run down here .

Hi gaz
i'm sure you have tuned om651 to its maximum limit if i remember correct. how much power can you get from stock injectors and turbo- so how far can you push the om651 with a remap?

have you fitted a catch can to OM651-isit a good idea?

I've not fitted a catch can to any car.

Thing is on a realistic dyno these 250's don't make their stock figures whereas the 220's do.

The only two reasons I can think of is Mercedes giving false figures to further difference the two bi-turbo outputs or the 250 didn't quite get the best replacement injectors or software when the unreliable Piezo injectors were binned .

Max HP well that depends on how 'generous' the dyno is .

Have to cry out BS to this as there is no before dyno.

im looking to do EGR and dpf delete? does this make any difference to power and economy if you've done it ?

how much bhp and torque would a stock 250 cdi engine run?
