OMG! The rarest of the rare R107!

i prefer the original look.... but its still nice.

yes i bet its still rusty!

atleast its one R107 that the rear spoiler doesnt look out of place on ;)

i plan to remove mine - i think..........

That's the car i based the look of my 107 Stratton SL that i sold last year.

Mine wasn't 6 litre but had the Stage 2 treatment of cams+head porting. This one went one step further in getting engnie bored to 6 litres. Of course they didn't do DOHC engines for the 107.

Wonder if the car still has it's Nakamichi sound system, it was this car's signature !

Very nice! proper old skool.

Its lost its black rear star though...

I am sure if memeory serves me right it was actually bored out to 5.4 ....i remember a 5.4 badge on it....or maybe i'm confused with another car.....

The wheels have changed colour, prefer the red centres myself...

Realistically, what is this one worth??

Looks like it has lost key detail in some refurbishment...easy fixes, (like the boot badge would take minutes to redo in Satin black) but suggests a lack of attention on such a rare piece.

What it's truly worth and what it'll sell for in this climate are 2 very diverging figures. I would suggest that in original form and if it's retained it's detail and history, an easy 15-20k...it's an original AMG piece with detailed engine/drivetrain treatment.

But given it's lack of detail, it might struggle to fetch near 10k in this market though.

10k? Wow.. a decent facelift car with provinence is a hard ask at that price, this would make excellent value at 10 bags, even if you add the odd grand to that price.

What power hikes are expected with the AMG wizardry?...

cheers Dee

I think the 6.0 SOHC M117 chucked out 320bhp.....the cams and heads took it from 231 to 276bhp, the extra displacement did the rest.

I think this car should have a Gleason Torsen diff at ratio of 2.65 or even lower ratio....which should give stunning acceleration given the stock diff was a long legged 2.24.

Given talbir's power figures, anyone care to estimate the 0-60 and Vmax performance figures?

It has to be mid-to-lows 6s to 60 and 155+mph, surely?

Talbir, one of the advert photos does show the car in a magasine feature, with the Sebring AMG tailpipes and and a 5.4 badge on the back.

Darren

Good spot Darren, even the tailpipes are now longer there.

The 'special one' from Stratton wore the 'AK 47' number plate.....that was a 5.4. That car had a full Nakamichi

Either this is not the AK 47 or if it is, it has lost an awful lot of it's original pieces. If it's not the AK 47, which car is it ?

I have the 0-60 and top speeds of the AK 47 tested at Milbrook figures at home. Will try and dig up later.

So is the seller saying that it IS 'The Weapon' and he has had more work done to it ?

Or is he using The Weapon Fast Lane piccy to show what it is like ?

AK47 has a 5.4 Badge , and colour coded wheels ...

The one in the pictures has silver wheels and a 6.0 badge ?

I don't think it is the AK47 car ...

I suspect that he is using the article to flatter the one he has for sale.....from memory there have been 2 or 3 different red 107's up for sale in the last couple of years with the same AMG bodykit, but none of them had any engine enhancements.

I think one of them has ended up for sale at Cheshire Benz from memory.

Also, I think one of the other ones you were referring was that red one on Ebay with the red interior?

Nice examples, although the ebay one was a little too red for my tastes!

Darren

The one that Chesire had/has, is being featured in ME magazine in next months (April) edition.

The red one on ebay with the red interior ? Was that the one in 2007 ?

That's the one i bought and sold last year....that was a genuine Stratton car with the full AMG works....AMG bodykit, suspension, stage 2 engine mods, steering wheel etc etc. It had lost the rear exhaust but other than that the car was complete and an absolute gem. Owned by the same person for the last 13 years and garaged !

Some pics below.

What a stunning car Talbir!
How come your ownership was so short lived?.. looks like a keeper to me!

PS: Any shots of that all red interior?

Cheers Dee

The car from Cheshire Benz was being worked on at Merx in Stoke last year if I am right. It was in a right state at the time. It was even redder than it is now if that is possible!

The chap that bought it off Talbir is the only person in the UK with a bigger AMG problem than Talbir! He also lives about a half mile from my warehouse and pops in ocassionally.

It is actually quite a nice car, it's no concourse show piece, but a genuine useable good condition AMG car....no point wrapping them up in museums, they should be driven.
