Has anyone played the free practice poker on this site?
http://www.pacificpoker.com
Is it different from the "real" money games? i.e. harder to win? Just wondered because I started with their free $1,000 and now have $8,500 odd. Seems too easy to be true. Any opinions?

$12,374.34 when I stopped just now. It must be a come on to get you hooked, get you signed up and to get your money. It can't be that easy to make $11,000 odd in 2 days. Can it?

I know absolutely nothing about poker ... but when I read your first post, I thought, "that's to get you hooked and think you can really make money". In your second, you confirmed it :D

So no, I think you'd be saying goodbye to your cash pretty quickly ...

trying desperately not to click on that link ...

Have a go & see if you get the same result. Interesting to see if someone who knows absolutely nothing about poker can win on the practice/free tables. I played the $30/60 games (it's not my money!)

Hmm yes I think I'll go and get lots of spyware and muck up my image with 234789659283 extra startup exes as while in the process...

If I was as worried about spyware as you are I'd never log on again. Isn't that why God invented Ad-Aware, Spybot & Symantec?

I can't comment on PacificPoker (which looks like its a 888 subsidary which are the "big boys") but licensed online casino's do have to have a certain pay out rate so you will win every so often or might get lucky. The free games do often have better odd's as they are not regulated and are treated as just a sampler. This was the case over a year ago when I was in that industry things might have changed by now but I kind of doubt it.

I'd rather avoid such sites, sticking to trusted sources.
