Yes, sounds like some sort of comedy sketch.

Sorry to go OT, but if anyone reading this knows, I have another Road/legal realted question:

I know someone with a Subaru Impreza STi Prodrive, which is kitted out in the full 555 Rally Graphics, all over the car, including the Race Number on the doors.

There has been some question as to whether or not you are allowed to display race Numbers on the car, when used on the road?

Is this true or not?

You can put whatever you want on your car as long as it dosn't contravene construction and use regulations. Numbers on the door won't.

Thinking of putting a number on the Merc Graham? <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

Knowing Graham, the number is likely to be above 68 and below 70 &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> .

It's the RAC MSA that have rules about displaying race numbers on road cars.

As for

Do you make them park it down the road when they come to visit? <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Mark.

Good one, Mrs E and me have decided to transfer to St Neots, we both feel that we could cope with only working on Tuesday's &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banana.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':bannana:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banana.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':bannana:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banana.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':bannana:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banana.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':bannana:'>

Flip's right, I believe if you drive showing competition numbers on a race/rally car you're liable for an endorsement on your competition licence........ I do have a 'Blue Book' but can't be a$£%d to look up the actual para.

I remember when working for a well known electronics manufacturer we had a couple of ICE demo Golfs as F2 rally car replicas - yes with all the works colour scheme. The only problem was, you had every spotty oik in a Nova trying it on and the diesel engine rather hindered any high revving antics!

They ended up in the car park for most of the year unless on exhibition/event support work.
