I remember listening to the entire album being played by Tommy Vance on BBC Radio 1's 'Friday Rock Show' in late '79. He had Roger Waters there with him, talking us through every track. Had a profound effect on this 15 year-old schoolboy, that's for sure.

A pleasant stroll along the river from my house, and what must be a stone's throw from Howard is Astoria, Dave Gilmour's recording studio where a lot of Dark Side of the Moon was recorded. I don't know if any of The Wall came from it, perhaps an expert can shed more light?

The Wall was actually released about 7 years before David purchased Astoria.

Tommy Vance's Friday Rock Show was a great influence for me, much like John Peel, he found lots of new music to play.

I was listening to the same show you were while in bed and the Helecopter at the start of Happiest Days woke my Brother up in his room... LOL..
