    Hi
As I advance in years I pride myself that I still keep up to date with the latest phones and use the internet to buy things,I use online banking and in general get along fine with modern technology.

I have tried to help a friend who has had bone cancer some years ago and needs to go on a regular basis to Stanmore she has in the past been driven there by her partner but he is too ill to drive anymore, and so I suggested using one of the many cheap train ticket companies online.

I got the job of finding the cost of the tickets,so I put in Clacton on Sea to Stanmore a station on the Jubilee line, only to be told that Stanmore is not a valid station,so thinking that the site was in error I tried a number of others, all returned the fact that Stanmore does not exist.

I sent a email to one company pointing out that Stanmore is on the Jubilee and just why is it not in their data base this is the reply I got.

Hi Brian Thank you for your email,I am sorry to say that I do not understand your question,Stanmore does not exist in our database therefore you should not be finding any results for it,if you would like to tell me where you would like to travel too I would be pleased to help you.
    Best
    Catherine.

I should point out that I used this site recently to travel from Dovercourt to Blackburn and had great service and all the trains ran on time and I saved £30,I should have stopped after that win it seems I have pushed my luck and entered the twilight zone.

Is it because Stanmore is a TFL station and Clacton isn’t.
The person replying might be speaking the truth by saying that Clacton doesn’t exist in her database.
If the moon isn’t in her database, does that mean the moon doesn’t exist?

As above. Am assuming it's because you are mixing train and underground. You should be able to buy a ticket to nearest overground station then add a ticket for the underground.

Somebody might be able to suggest a site that does both, meanwhile I use Google to suggest routes. Click the image or link below and then click on the train icon (shown in red below).

I certainly hope that it does exist, I fully intend barking at it this weekend.

Isn't the answer to buy a ticket from Clacton to the appropriate TFL zone? Stanmore is zone 5.

If it helps, I found that "Raileasy" recognises both stations.

Out of interest, why would you bark at a railway station?

I drove past it yesterday & can confirm it certainly does exist

Clacton-on-Sea (CLT) to London Liverpool Street (LST) - Greater Anglia Trains - 1 hour 26 minutes @ £29.70 single fare.

From Liverpool Street, Metropolitan Line train towards Amersham, change at Wembley Park Station onto the Jubilee Line Train towards Stanmore.

Thank you for the "Raileasy" suggestion will try that, the reason I suggested using the Jubilee line even thought you start from Stratford and tour Kent before you head north and get to Stanmore is that the poor lady will not have to rush around Liverpool St and the underground there as she has a titanium bar for a Femur and so even though the trip is by way of the scenic route,it will mean less walking and the hospital pick people up from Stanmore station.why don't these cheap fare people just put if you want to go to a underground station just put what zone it is in that would I suppose be too easy.

Not a bad thing really. It’s a rather nice area but the traffic is horrendous there.

I used to live in Stanmore, it ‘used’ to be a lovely area, as was most of London as you know Darrell ;)
