LMAO never had such a laugh and you are right it gets funnier the more you read, I cannot believe he could not work out where to fit it, lets hope he never tries an exhaust mod!!! on a separate note cone filter in engine compartmet sucking in hot air, not a wise move in the first place. Thanks BigBob thats brightened up my dull day at work.

And these under evolved idiots are allowed BY LAW to breed and vote, thats what scares me,

You say that, but my old Morris 1100 had a summer and winter setting for the air filter inlet funnel. During the winter you were meant to rotate the funnel inlet so it took warm air in from over the exhaust manifold. It even had a special cowl over the manifold so as to get as much warm air as possible.
In summer you were meant to rotate the nozzle so it took in cooler air away from the manifold.

Classic quote..................

"the big black round thing behind were you fill the brake flewid"

........makes you wonder how some pass their driving test let alone manage to eat without detailed instructions.

Kwakdonut beat me to it and is correct was to stop the carb freezing up and was 40 years ago, technology has moved on a bit since then. I mean who would have thought a car without points:D

On a modern engine BHP is significantly reduced by cone filters or at best remains the same (due to incresed air intake) not sure how some of the manufacturers get their data, but i've lost count of the number of times we have took these off customers cars due to poor running, reverted back to the standard air box and panel filter (usually green not K&N) and they are amazed at the difference.

Points!! I'd forgoten about them! Ah, them were the days!!
A bit of oil, plugs and points and you're service was done. These days it's 400 quid+ from the dealer!
