I have had "one of those days" today.

Stats007 and 280Gee saw it for there own eyes. We had it all. Snapped bolts, seized bolts, wrong parts etc etc.....

I am absolutly knackered. I have to do it all over again tomorrow......

Bl00dy cars!

Doom ..... sorry to hear that Olly :(

I can laugh now but earlier on.....

I ****** away an entire day waiting for a delivery of a 50quid drill bit..... Great.

Know the feeling of 'those days' sometimes.

i lost a court claim today - the guy smuggly drove off afterwards in his aston - g*t!!

I avoided the workshop today, A-Class spark plugs when they had never done them before. I heard something about a plastic cover....

There's a reason we stick to Smarts!

A large single malt and a cheese toastie with cracked black pepper will put matters to rights and make you feel better:)

That is why I gave up repairing cars.

After a bad day changing the front springs on a Vauxhall for a "friend" who was as much help as a chocolate fireguard.

Thought you sounded slightly harrased when I rang earlier to book a service
Wait till you get a car load of kids 'Are we there yet dad?'
Anyway nice to chat earlier see you in November at least it helps fill your diary:thumb:

Yeah sorry about that. I was having a nighmare with MB at the time. They sent me 3 diff seals before I got the correct one.

:D

Ollie, this is why we appreciate your dedication rather than attempting to do things ourselves.
Chin up, and have a better day tomorrow.

I had a similar time today removing the rear shock absorbers from the W126 , in preparation to changing the springs . Have bought the harder rear springs and 19mm rubbers to beef up the back end for towing .

The top mountings came off without difficulty , through the access holes behind the rear seat . Unfortunately , despite wire brushing and liberally spraying beforehand with 'shock and unlock' the bottom nuts on one of the shockers refused to come undone , with the supposedly 'captive' bolts freeing themselves off from the wishbone and spinning with the nuts (the tops of the bolts are rectangular and sit inside the spring base , so are pretty much inaccessible) - eventually , I managed to knock in a chisel and lever a crowbar in from the other side to jam them again and stop them turning - but something like 4 hours of cursing and struggling to get two nuts undone !

The same two nuts on the other shock absorber came off without difficulty , in just a few minutes .

I'm expecting the special internal spring compressor to arrive tomorrow . Now about to order two Monroe Ride Levellers to replace the standard shocks with .
