Have been told that when installing new pads to the W211 E55 with SBC, that you need to tell the car via star that this has been done (informing it that new pads have been fitted)........also that a check needs to be done on the sbc pump timing.......is this all true?

I want to change my own pads and don't want to balls up the whole thing! I know about disconnecting the sbc pump and have been told to keep the doors shut............can anyone who is ''actually doing this daily'' confirm or deny what the score is with this please?

Many thanks in advance.

So just to be extra picky..........is it something that should be done (but nobody bothers?) or is it Bulls**t?

Thanks Olly. ;)

Blocks is what it is.

Yes its worth plugging in at some point to see if the SBC pump is about to explode but this can be done anytime.

You do need star (and some special tools) if you plan to change the brake fluid though.

Many thanks guys!;)
