Here's a car for someone who wants to take on Maff's latest..

CL beater?

I have just read a review of the SL65AMG and it has the same power train as the CL. What an engine.

I can see rear tyres being replaced on a very regular basis.

Regards,
John

Ooooooh!

"Please do not email me asking if I am willing to sell the car now.
You are all welcome to make a bid, but I am not currently interested in selling the car to anyone else apart from the winning bidder of this auction."

So why have a 'Buy It Now' price

And the other weird bit:

"""Upon winning, I expect a £3000 non-refundable deposit within 3 DAYS of auctions end, to be paid by bank transfer/approved bank draft. The remainding balance is to be paid BEFORE collection****

When I paid over the full amount, I would want the car, although he might mean "At time of collection"

Nice mota!

The SL65 also comes with a LSD (limited slip diff) so it gets away from standstill a bit quicker than the CL

I just can't get over the size of the brakes

What a car stunning.

The current high bidder is a dealer.

*EDIT*

Breaks to Brakes :o

LSD always used to be an option on all models, if it's not on the CL then it should be possible to fit it, although ASR/ESP and LSD do not get on well.

I prefer Maff's car, I think it's got more presence.

I've driven a new SL500, and whilst it's clearly an awesome car, I'd have a late R129 over it... That said, the V12 biturbo is a compelling argument *drool*

Why (just curious!)?

Could be listed for her dad. But does seem a bit strange especially the location.

I just prefer the overall shape of the R129, the Silver Arrows model listed in the other thread is simply gorgeous. The older car somehow feels more 'solid', and I was quite dissapointed with the interior of the R230, things like the instrument binnacle, and especially the heater controls just looked and felt cheap.

Mercedes seem to be painting themselves into a bit of a corner with all the integrated electronics, such as the centre console on the W211.

I guess I can still look at a '91 R129, and (apart from the orange indicators), don't think that the design looks dated. Assuming it's been serviced, it will look and drive as new - I don't have the same level of confidence with the R230.

Just my 2ps worth.

Interesting, thanks - never sat in an R230.

Interesting location for photos of a £100k+ car!

well , yes and no ...

means you can't identify their house and go and nick it.

Far easier to hit them on the head in a car park and run off with it! :D

Mite be her dads car perhaps?
