Car
2005 W215 CL500.
So, I've had my car one year now. I've put 11459 miles on it and used 356 gallons of diesel (32.18 mpg).

What's it cost me besides fuel, insurance and tax?

£324.76.

It's not due a service for another 20 days.

Cheap motoring in a great car.

Not putting a damper on your "Cheap Motoring" but, you cannot take the year in isolation, especially as it is due a service, which you are ignoring conveniently.
If you are saying that the car has had no repairs last year, then fine, but it will cost you money for a service very soon.

I did just over 16k in my w124 e300d in 2009 - now on nearly 220k altogether and apart from a couple of oil changes and some tyres it cost me the princely sum of £35 for a second hand headlight damaged by a flying stone.
there is a bit of maintenance coming up to be fair - but even so it is pretty cheap motoring.

Brian it did have repairs...£324.76. I did mention the service is coming due but
how much can a service be?

Still cheap.

Hi

The exhaust still hanging in there i hope???

230K:D

Yes Brian it is, great work, thanks. Though I think the drop links will need doing soon as you suggested.

Thread resurrection.

Second year costs were £770.56.

More than double the first, but still not bad.

The exhaust repaired by 230K is still hanging on in!!

I was doing a quick mental calculation of the average of both years. But I've now used a calculator and it's 4ppm. Even better :) Even a brand new E350CDi is more.

I very rarely have such luck with my s/h cars. I think only my current A2 comes close. I'd had it 1.5 years now, done 20k and has cost me only 2 tyres and 1 cambelt service.

I did 13115 miles, so 6p per mile.

That is 13k miles in the second year, I take it.

My car has averaged 6.6p per mile for everything excluding RFL, depreciation, insurance, fuel and number plate.
The figure includes hire car, paintwork, wheel refurbs, loan car fuel, etc.

Average fuel consumption is 33.27 mpg, but has improved in latter times, it took quite a dip when on Bio-diesel.

What are you paying for fuel? I'm averaging 14ppm on diesel alone at 41mpg over a 10.5 months...

Be interesting to do the sums on the service/repair side this year
