I remember when these were first released for sale. Not many produced so seems a bargain. Shame it doesn't have the larger engine but that said Jay would want a few more pounds l am sure!

God i love the 124 cabrio, arent they just stunning, if only i could afford one,

i tell you this, one day i will have one!!!!

although i think if i got a 220 i would always be thinking that i should have gone for a 320 just me

I don't think its got Sportline wheels, my Sportline is fitted with 205 60 15 tyres whereas this one seems to be wearing 195 65 15.

Unusual OEM armrest too...unless that was standard on the topless models to provide additional storage space?

Those armrests are rare, mine doesn't have one so I doubt they were standard, I think US cars are ore likely to have them fitted from the ones I've seen.

Some very senior members of the forum watching this thread right now.

c995 Well spotted on the armrest. I had not clocked that myself. Last one I saw on ebay went for just under 200 squid.

i spotted that, a rare option. its to house the original tel. phone.

you think its still got the original phone in it?

I have been quietly following 124 cab ads for a while now. Interestingly, there does not seem to be much difference between the asking prices of 320s and 220s, although there are considerably more 220s for sale. Has anyone had experience of both engines? Is there much difference in the way they drive?

Yes I made the plates up incorrectly! The MOT tester had fun with that one... mucho head scratching... sorted it now.. it is L413.

Simon

I have had both... first a 220 and then a 320. IMHO the 320 is the only way to go. These are heavy cars and my 220 always felt harsh and gutless compared with the 320.
The 320 is silky smooth, will use slightly more fuel and has it's issues but for me there is no comparison.

The 220 is still a nice car for cruising around in though and would for many still be a wonderful drive.
