I hope they sacked the driver/operator, as he should have known better than to lift without his outriggers out.

I can hear the 'Hamlet' cigar advert music playing in the background :) Hopefully the crane driver is okay to be sacked?

oh dear.. for some reason I burst out laughing :)
rescuing the rescuers :D

I suppose in a way it reminded me of fishing.

1. Start of with a little bait (white van)

2. Catch bigger fish (first crane) Change to bigger bait

3. Catch great big fish (second crane)

4. Change bait :D etc. etc.......

LOL :D - reminds me of a similar scenario we had at one my building sites not long ago. Had a rigid lorry deliver a load of bricks (had been raining heavily that day and the lorry got stuck). Ibstock (Brick company) sent another lorry to tow/resuce the one that was stuck and as you've probably gussed that resue lorry became stuck too  . In the end the dumper truck came tot he rescue that I have on site by sliding bit of chip bord beneath the wheels of the lorries.
