OOPS! Little green men in interstellar space?

Ha ha the fools! I told them back in 1977 that an Electric Satellite was a bad idea, but would they listen? No the didn't. Good luck with charging the battery now. Nitwits.
Hehe - "Ed Stone". I wonder what his epitaph will be.

Seriously though, whenever the technology behind missions like this is discussed, I'm always in awe of the engineers who designed it. From the foresight to program an automatic realignment several times a year, to the whole 'grand tour' gravity assist trajectory, to the design of a power system that's still producing hundreds of watts after decades in such a hostile environment. A terrific achievement.

Just waiting for the Internet meme showing a Space-X rescue satellite making its way to the edge of the Solar system and carrying a Diesel generator on its back......

@markjay no diesel generator allowed, Mr. Khan is the new mayor of space, and has declared it as a new LEZ.
No daily charge, just a billion fine for any diesels..

…. Per hour o_O
