Chatting to the salesman as my MOT was being done.

He says only four options add value at resale time (relating to E Class).

Can you guess all four?

I should say, one was a bit odd and not applicable in many cases

Leather, paint colour, Command, xenon headlights.

Leather, Command, Pano roof or sunroof, metalic.

In the case of the S212 maybe the rear seat package?

Assuming metallic paint, leather, and auto are expected on the E and considered de-facto standard...

I would say COMAND, Pano/Sunroof, Sport suspension, memory seats?

My car had £16K's worth of options (retail) and only one fits in with his four.

He discounted some of my better ones such as Distronic, Airmatic, Keyless, Auto Tailgage, Brabus chip, though he did say that they make the car more saleable, rather than more valuable.

^ I can understand that...

second hand surely its more to go wrong and actually put people off?

I would think its the more 'normal' things you would expect on an E class, such as the command or heated seats, parking sensors.

In fact things that are standard on most lesser cars nowadays...

Good question John...

Pano, Command, rear heated seats and that stalk thing on the right of the steering column that you press to talk to?

upgrade alloys,pano roof,Leather,paint.

Close, but no cigar - I'll resurrect it tomorrow.

Leather, auto, COMAND & seven seats (obviously in an S211).
