Options for a replacement head unit witch car play ML350 W164

Hi - I wondered if anyone has replaced (or upgraded) their head unit in a 2011 W164. Mine has a COMAND system, with what seems to be 2009 maps loaded. It also has an MMI socket in the glovebox, but while I can get an old iPod mini to connect, there's no joy connecting my iPhone XS, even with an MMI to lightning cable. There is also a reversing camera which seems to work alright.

It's very much not a priority, but I do miss having carplay having had it in my previous car and my wifes car, so wondered what the better options might be.

Have you had a look at the Android head units? They support The whole shabbang! I think iceboxauto are a good start

I hadn't, but will. Have read a few tales about the Android units being a bit slow, but trying not to judge until I find someone with some experiences of them

I fitted one on my 1 series and loved it! So definitely looking to install one in my W204
