Order change?

You're right, it is - a perfectly reasonable question......confirmed by post #4.

Post 4 is hardly confirmation of a reasonable question!

You are still left with the supplying dealer being the only one that can provide a definitive answer from MB.

I have a C63 on order and received an email from the dealer 2 days ago advising delivery end sept. I have until 12th July to change or add anything to the order. i have already changed colour and a couple of things since the late May original order.

No he was asking for specific advice.
I doubt he/ she was expecting any advice to actually change the order, so i would call that general!

the ultimate answer is obviously down to the dealer but by asking on such a forum the OP
might gain some interesting opinion or advice which may give him a few ideas on how to approach the dealer so as to best influence him - if indeed there is an opportunity to do so

I imagine the OP is quite excited by his new car and wanted to chat, from his comments he felt flamed

I doubt this was the result anyone was looking for, to defend this type of response with "its down to the OP" is not really a convincing argument

also this reasoning that someone is "wasting peoples time" is a strange one

reading these posts is optional surely if we dont want to we shouldnt do it
but it not for anyone to judge peoples posts as timewasters

Bang on imo :thumb:

Guys I have an C63 on order and I'm being told that its due for pick up early october. Do I getvthe chance to before the build date as I've had a change of heart on the colour (well the wifechange spec has)

That seems pretty specific to me.

Well, hopefully the OP has now been in touch with the dealer and requested the change in time so he gets the car exactly how he wants it.

The first couple of responses to his original question and the attitude of some towards newcomers, such as myself, have really put me off using this forum already. Life's too short for this kind of bickering. I have two children under four for that.

People like DSM should be banned not people who have for many years been making huge contributions to this forum.... As Mika says, dont read the post if it's of no interest.....

Give it a rest DSM, it's saturday morning. Go out, take the Mrs for a bite to eat and enjoy yourself.

So resorting to insults now? How mature!

How are you supposed to make a decision regarding replying to a post without first reading it?

My first post related to the OP wasting his / her time asking a question that clearly could only be solved by calling the dealer. I could, with hindsight have phrased it differently and no offence was meant but 5 other members clearly agreed with the sentiment of my post.

Interpreting the meaning behind text is almost impossible and you, by throwing insults have just lowered yourself to the level you wrongly accuse me of!

Sounds like a reasonable question. Maybe someone else had had a similar experience and could have given a suitable reply.

Surprise, surprise.

Why not just cut a newbie a bit of slack and make him welcome on the forum - you never know, he may turn into a knowledgeable contributor?

For those that are interested I have spoke with the dealer and he has informed me that I can make a change I just need to sign a new order form. Happy days.

DSM, I was a little put off by your tone of reply but I'm a big boy so I'm capable of shunning your original post. However it was not the sort of responce I expected on a forum for like minded people. Like others have stated I was looking to see if anybody else had been through the same experience. The dealer would have been my first stop but as it was after closing hours I turned to the place i thought would be able to advise if a change can be done.
Can we all play nicely now please.

I do think people are a tad precious at times and read into a reply what they want rather than what is written.

It was never my intent to put you off using this forum and if you took my response that way then I regret that. Regardless you could not have received the definitive information you wanted on here. There are many people on here with opinions, some valid, well thought out and accurate, many others are very much at the other end of the spectrum!

Shall we all move on unless those small number who seem to take pleasure from continually looking for a way to antagonise are still looking for sport?:thumb:

I do think people are a tad barbed at times and write into a reply what they want, rather than what is helpful........

Fixed that for you :thumb:

You are not helping, just being rather childish.

I will think of you as soon the pheasants are flying!:thumb:.
