UK 500E

Probably a tad expensive at the current price, however a solid 500E is difficult to find (if this is one).

Well, its a relatively basic spec 500E being the 1991 model, however 85K miles is VERY low for a 500E and being an original UK example this makes it a very difficult to find vehicle.

I think there were about 150 original UK cars, not 29.

Silver with black leather is a very good colour combination. Has drivers memory seat, becker mexico and BOSE sound.

it's left hand drive - how come it's described as a UK model?
cheers
Andy

Andy - they were all built as LHD.

They never made a 500E in RHD.

It's a UK model as originally UK supplied - most of the rest were imported into the UK from abroad.

Is it just me, or are there a hellofalotta these for sale at the moment? When I looked into them about 5yrs ago, the only examples were on www.mobile.de

Hard to sell these days, I'm guessing...

Yes they are.

Expensive, thirsty and LHD doesnt help

Thats a wonderful example.
I can imagine that will end up in the hands of a purist collector; and so it should - considering it's originality, it would be a shame to see it modified, IMO.

There is official MB documentation to confirm that there are only 29 UK 500e's ever sold through UK dealerships, and only 2 are 1993 cars, one of them is mine.

Mine was sold through Greenoaks of Maidenhead.

There appears to be confusion between the number of UK 500E's and the E60's. There are 29 UK 500E's and circa 120 E60's. E60 Limited's are ultra rare though !

Gerry Van Zandt on the 500 Ecstasy forum has the most complete register and documentation of these cars and he has confirmation of the 29 UK 500E's figure.

Never hard to sell a 500E - in my opinion, it's Mercedes finest product and their ONLY coachbuilt car of the last 30 years.

There will always be buyers for a 500E - it's that special.

Not at the wrong prices though. Some stupid prices will never be achieved unless they are LOW miles and highly maintained straight cars.

Before you tell me to wash my mouth out, but there are more special cars than the 500E....10,000 odd built is still plenty compared to some cars.

The E60 Limited is something else though...
