Original W202 C55 AMG

does it go any faster then a C43 for £2500 to £5000 K

How does he know there are only 3 in the UK ??????? :dk:

Looks tatty. For that asking price you would get it looking the best it can be.

Like others have said, a mint C43 plus the price of a C55 conversion is a better option.....And still have money in the bank for fuel, insurance, maintenace etc.

A genuine 202 AMG built C55 is very rare less than 50 world wide.
Remember this is full 55 conversion done at the AMG factory.
As far as I know and correct me if I,m wrong all the 43/55 conversions are still running with a 43 gearbox, diff, drive shafts and ECU. This has the FULL conversion done.
But I do agree with a lot of the comments on condition, but it is such a rare beast and the market is such a small one it will take a while to sell and possibly 2-3k less than what he is asking, IIRC the last one on the market a silver estate fetched about 15-16k with similar mileage and condition but it was slightly lower spec.

Yep - as Andy says, this is a rare car.

To put it into context, it is one of, if not THE rarest of all the AMG models in the UK.

I have seen this car in the flesh, and have never, ever seen a single other one ever - for sale, on the roads, online etc - NONE! Only one 202 C55 estate for sale with very high mileage - which I once saw parked up in London (so long as it wasn't just a badging excercise!)

Might seem expensive, but you have to appreciate that it is not just a C43 with a '55 engine. It's a full conversion with a modified shell for the running gear.

I think these were about £20K more expensive than a C43 new.

Nigel (the owner) will know exactly what it is, how rare it is, and will set his asking price accordingly. He's had plenty of rare/niche MBs - SL60s, 500E/E500s, E60 AMG 124s, 190E 2.5-16 Evo-1 etc.

Find another one for sale cheaper? ;)

I wouldn't want it for that much myself, but it only needs one buyer who appreciates it's rarity :)

Ahh Nigel... Never met him but I love him and his creations... Especially now that I own the G560 he so masterfully crafted.

I saw that and sat in it years back too!

Does it still have the four Recaro seats, AMG wheels etc?

Nice car - sounded good

Here is one more C55 AMG W202 for sale

Two out of three in the UK for sale at one time !

Mercedes-Benz : Very rare C55 AMG Estate

That's the one I mentioned earlier.

It used to be located in West London.

Was for sale about two years back with ~ 150k miles IIRC.

169k miles @ £12k. How expensive is that other saloon one now? :)

Not seen any for years and an estate and a saloon come along at the same time!
Anyone else notice that the estate has tiptronic, rare to have on a standard 43, but on a proper 202 C55 must be unheard of!

Yes I wanted to buy it when he was selling it but the communication randomly broke down from his end... Then it turned up near me so had to go and have a peep... a silly offer was made and surprisingly accepted so its mine!

Still got the four recaro's, the engine is lovely... the only thing needing attention is the axle ratios as it revs very high at motorway speeds. not sure thats going to be so easy though.
Currently having a full lick of paint to get it perfect...

May have to change the colour of the interior too as its a bit too dark for my liking.. .although done wonderfully with great attention to detail...

Maybe I should create my own thread!!
