orthopaedic seats

Hi
I believe I have an orthopaedic seat in my 2001 CLK - however there only seems to be a control for the passenger seat - could the original purchaser ordered just the passenger seat and not the drivers seat or has the seat been replaced at soem time - It seems a bit odd......??

Put your VIN in here to see exactly what was specced when the car was new.

It's possible (but I can't think why), that it's only the controls that have been removed.

For UK purchased cars, you could only get them as a pair - but in Europe I think you could order them seperately.

I *think* they were option code 404 and 405 (but that really is from memory)

- so look on the datacard in the handbook, or on one of the stickers, which I think is on the drivers door frame for the code in the bottom half of the sticker with all the option codes

Was yours a UK supplied car, or an import ? (or don't you know)

pretty sure its an import......dealer mentioned it - thought very little of it until now as it's Uk spec.....anyhting else I should be aware of now we can presume its an import???

I take it you're only referring to CLKs? MY 124's got a driver's-only Ortho seat, and it is a UK car.

Yup, or really all mercs being sold in 2000 (and still now I think)

thnaks for the pointers - have checked the VIN and code 404 is indeed left seat orthapaedic...can only assume that the UK buyer got it the wrong way round with the German dealer and thought he was ordering a drivers seat....whilst looking through the option codes my car has 833 - but theres no description of what this actually is.....can anyone shed any light on code 833 for me please
