I've had H7 Osram Nightbreaker + in for a couple of years now, I'm sure they weren't this yellow when I first fitted them.
Is it likely that they have turned yellow over time ?

No idea.

Mine are two years old and still bright, if this is anything to go by.

Perhaps the voltage is low? Or the plastic lens scratched?

At any rate, a pair of Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited (the newest version) H7 are only £15 from Amazon, inc. shipping, so not a major issue if indeed they need to be replaced I would have thought?

Google "OSR-64210NBU"

Or you could try a pair of LED H7 SMD 3528 bulbs... very cheap... no idea if they are legal for use as headlamps though, probably not :D

I think LED H7's would be white but not light up the road very well, I had a similar experience with M-Tec's

I've fitted GE Megalight Ultra 120+ to my Citroen XMs, so I can see the road very clearly (when the wiring isn't on the blink) and ditto my 190. I would also give your headlamp lenses a very good clean as they do pit over time, and if you can get in, clean the interior and silvering (with considerable care). Check also voltage drop from the battery to lights and clean all the connectors in between.

Aren't yellower bulbs a result of an old battery/poor current ?

LED bulbs should never be fitted to a car with halogen style OE. Because of the design of the reflector the light will just spread and not be concentrated on the road.

Bright yes! Dazzle oncoming traffic yes! Place the beam where it needs to be no!

I've just been out to check the battery voltage on the dash -

12.1v - Engine Off
13.8v - Engine Running, No Light
13.8v - Engine Running, Lights On

I'd say the current bulbs have just gone back to Standard H7 yellowish.
I might try some Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited H7 £17.49 EuroCarParts I probably bought my current set from Ebay

Check the voltage at the lamps, it's that that will determine the amount of light being produced.

You could just search for a pair of Philips H7 65watt bulbs, no problems with wattage over the standard wiring and fuses but a very useful improvement in output as they use the same tech as the "over rated" bulbs but without being over rated, just 10 watts over the specified. And they will last a lot longer also.

Not getting into the legality issue on this thread.

Not getting into the legality issue on this thread.

I don't think there's a legal issue relating to Watts rating - why would the DVLA or MoT be concerned with your car's power consumption?

If there is an issue with the amount of light car bulbs emit, it would be related to the bulb's Lumens output, not Wattage.

For example, standard 35W HIDs are much brighter that 55W Halogens.

Don't forget Mbclub25 for our discount which brings them down to £13'ish. Brilliant deal - I just replaced mine and bought a spare set too! I am lucky enough to pass a branch on the way home from work

Code doesn't work, think you have to spend over £20 maybe ? Any suggestions to get it over the £20 ?
