Anyone else suffering from this $**@{~#? annoying IE homepage hijacker that seems to be spreading everywhere? I'm really miffed I'll tell you!

It constantly resets your homepage to some poxy search page, namely

res://mshp.dll/index.html#22776

and is extremely annoying.

Norton AV doesn't pick anything up, is it a virus or just an annoying hijacker that spreads like wild fire?

Having searched on it in google, it seems to be spreading everywhere. Seems most resolutions involve downloading adaware and similar anti spyware s/w.

I'm not happy I tell thee!

Never had that problem yet, but have had problems with pop ups in the past, complete pain in the back side

Thanks guys, seems like I have indeed picked up some vile spyware.

From asking around, seems like some of my friends have the same problem too.

Will rid myself of it at the weekend and let u know how I get on!

Charlie - chuck on Spybot S&D, run it and you'll be sorted within a few minutes. My machines now running so much better - it's a vast difference - good luck:D
