Well, it was already an over the top car, but look at it now.

From the Brabus site...

The legendary BRABUS 6.3 litre V12 Bi-Turbo engine can replace the standard 5.5 litre unit, increasing power to a staggering 640bhp and 762lb.ft (1026Nm) of torque. BRABUS engineers increase the capacity of the standard engine thanks to a new crankshaft with longer throw, increased cylinder bore and larger custom pistons.

In addition, the cylinder heads are re-machined and newly manufactured camshafts added. Engine electronics are reprogrammed to a completely new configuration and to complete the package, a high performance sports exhaust system incorporating high flow metal catalysts, and low resistance sports silencer with twin side exiting exhaust pipes for both sides of the car are added
Performance of this luxury saloon benefits accordingly, accelerating to 60mph in 4.8 and on at a maximum speed electronically limited to 190mph.

At the push of a button the Maybach is transformed into a luxurious office on wheels. The monitors serve as computer screens for a computer custom developed for use in a car – this car! It features an 80Gb hard drive and is connected to the internet at up to 1.5 times the speed of ISDN using a W-LAN and fourplex GPRS router. For comfortable operation the system features a handy wireless keyboard and wireless gyro mouse. The USB 2.0 port is integrated into the centre consol allowing connection of peripherals.

To stay on line even outside the car BRABUS comms specialists integrated an IBM X-series notebook into an electrically operated drawer in the boot, below the rear parcel shelf. The notebook is also connected by W-LAN to the cars computer network.

Thus equipped the top of the line Maybach 62 costs around £550,000 including tax

I would love to place an order for one but it won't fit in the garage unfortunately.
Plus I don't have any money.

huh. Most people still see this car as an overpriced version of the S-Class.

If i had that money to spare i would buy the Rolls Royce Phantom. Has a more imposing look, stands out a mile away. I saw Jay Kay (Jamerqui fame) driving a Phantom on Old Brompton Road last Saturday in London !

   if I had £550k to spend on a car - I think I'd want sommat that was not an office on wheels - albeit very fast wheels and very shiney wheels:D

If I had £550k to spend on a car I would buy a second hand Morris Marina and give the rest to various PC charities.:D

Keep watching the sky for the flying elephants!

Bob
