Mercedes wedged between two Boris buses in expensive pile-up in London | Weird | News | Daily Express

The crumple zones work then....

That's a fairly hard impact. Would not like to be the insurance company in that claim

You wait all morning for a bus...
That's not what is meant by a bendybus.
The Mercedes bends will cause it to be written off, which will be cheaper than mending the buses.

Lets not forget the passengers of the bus had no seatbelts.

I hope none were stood up either. I've been on a bus when it had to slam on, and a poor young woman was thrown and badly hurt, unconscious. Was awful. :(

As mentioned above - it's not the passengers of the cars to be worried about but those in the bus without seatbelts.

From the damaged I'd call that a fairly low speed impact, <20mph. Bonnets and wings are all minimum strength panels.

Those new London buses are £350,000 each. I'm guessing the Merc drivers insurance premium may take a bit of a jump on renewal. Even if the second bus rammed him into the first it's still his fault in the eyes of insurance companies !!

At least London transport will pick up the bill for the back end. I can't see this one being sorted out very quickly.

Sounds very odd...?

Would not want to be the rear bus driver... I can see him trying to explain this to his bosses.

I've been in the middle car of two "catapult" collisions, and this isn't quite correct.

In this case, assuming the Merc was pushed into bus 1 by bus 2, bus 1 will claim off Merc, and Merc will claim off bus 2 for Merc and bus 1. The Merc claim for both parties would be successful as it wasn't at fault, and assuming no other complications.

It reminds me of a bus in Liverpool that 30 odd scousers tried to get on to, AFTER it had just had a collision!
