I had the misfortune to put a big dent in the bottom of my front bumper this evening on a kerbstone   Its a pretty deep dent so i,m sure it will need a complete replacement.

My dilema is

A) Live with it.
B) Put in a claim £200 excess (lets see how good Adrian Flux is)
C) Buy a bumper, get it sprayed and fitted my self.

Regarding option (B) my insurance runs out this friday and has been renewed already
Should i put in a claim before it runs out or before ??

BTW I cant seem to get into the russian site to get a cost of a bumper 2004 C270 front with headlamp washers and parktronic.

Heat it with a heat gun and push it out then touch in..

That can be easily repaired by any good bodyshop, it's not worth bothering with a £200 excess (+ increase come renewal time) IMHO.

Pop round to a couple of recommended local places and see what they think cost wise. Providing there's no other damage, I'd say £100-200 or so.

Will

If detali.ru was up atm you could look up the front bumper and see if the lower lip is available on it's own, might not be as expensive as you think. Will cost more than your excess though.

EDIT: people posted as I was posting, makes my suggestion look dumb but it's still an option depending on damage...

There is a perfect line to mask to,, if anyone charged more that £70-£100 they should be shot,,, its an easy DIY in the right weather

Mine is one piece :(

The complete bumper panel is £235+vat+paint

Hi racall ...

Your local to me aren't you ?

Pop down to Hampton Hill Crash Repairs .... they'll do it ...

Going to see them tomorrow myself about sorting out my rusty wings ....

I reckon , to be honest , that i'm gonna need to get some new wings and get them sprayed .... :(

One has the dreaded bubble , i think it has come from the inside ... the other seems sound , just surface rust ...

We'll see ...

That's double Ouch!!

Just for a couple of holes, jeesh, your getting less bumper as well :o :(

Actually Parktronic holes are part of the protective strips, not the actual bumper.

So that's £600 just for the headlamp washer holes!!!

I have to say though , looking at it , i agree with Television ...

My dad backed his CLK into a pillar in his underground car park , and put a fat dent in the bumper ( plastic ) ...

He got one of these companies in ( they only work with plastic , not metal ) , they fixed it up a treat , matched the paint and painted it ....

You'd never tell ....

Gotta be the easier plan ... they come to you too ...
