So there I was, at lunchtime, waiting patiently in a queue for the lights to change. When they did the delivery driver to my offside (one way street) decided to set off despite the fact I was in the way. Crunch.

Damage to o/s rear wing and bumper and one very apologetic turck driver "Really sorry, I looked in my mirror but didn't see you."

:crazy::mad:

God how irritating, No matter how much they apologise you still have a dented car.

Off to a Merc bodyshop soon then! (Anything else need touching up at the same time:rolleyes:)

Happen to me once at a traffic light in Southend-on-Sea. Standing at a dual carrige way traffic light, inside lane. Red light, I stop. Van driver behind me decided not to stop...... "eh, sorry, I thought you were going to jump the red light".

Worse than I thought - looks like the wheel took the brunt of it - ESP light flashing when I came home and ESP now no longer working plus steering wheel isn't centred when I'm going straight forward.

I'd get that car checked out before driving it any further - sounds like there might be suspension and/or steering rack damage, either of which could be dangerous.

It's not moved since I got home and nor will it 'til it's loaded onto the tow truck.

Sorry, not meaning to give granny egg-sucking lessons or anything...:)

Two lovely sunny days in Leeds and seen lots of rooves down while the slick is in the bodyshop and I'm relegated to Mrs B's Audi.

Should be back on Friday :bannana:

Back today after bodywork repairs and new suspension arms plus hub(?).

Asked for and got a copy of the last alignment checks so as to be confident the job was done well and all appears fine.

Update:

2 days later the diff and driveshaft emitted a large 'bang' and I had no transmission, stuck in the back of beyond. Four and a half hours later I was back on the road, courtesy of Mobilolife - in a Toyota Yaris. Possibly the worst breakdown 'service' I have ever received and an appalling advert for MB.

Car recovered to stealership and I got it back on Friday.

Two days later and I've just come off the phone to Mobilolife after reporting the fluid dripping on to my drive from the diff...

They're picking it up in the morning.

My first MB and I didn't expect this level of service from what is supposed to be a premier brand.

Ouch again !

I think its sometimes worse when you get a dent through no fault of your own. Last week I spent 12 hours cleaning my `immaculate with not a mark on it` 2004 SLK320 : washed, paint cleaner, polish, 2 coats sealant, 2 coats carnauba wax, I would swear the car looked brand new. Yesterday I walked past the car and to my horror saw against the light a small dent just above the passenger side door handle, unbroken paint, someone next to me must have swung open their car door with force and their door handle probably caused it. Only small but due to the fantastic paint finish, very noticeable.
So what do I do ? Got to a Merc dealer and get the whole door done, or ask one of these mobile dent repairers to `have a go` but fearful if a local area repair then its going to still look unsightly due to paint being different etc., or just leave it and try not to look at the dent and pretend its not there.
I would be grateful if anyone has got any any views on what I should do ?

clives, check dents inc website. Dents from other people's doors are a nightmare, that is why I usually park at the far end of any car park and always with one side to the kerb.

Anyway I had noticed a few dents all over my e240 when I bought it did some searching and dents inc seemed good. Well, they are magicians. I book a £70 mobile service, the guy comes, I show him all the dents around the car, he says I can do all for £90. Agreed, I said please be careful if you remove any upholstery, to which he replies, don't worry mate just lower all the windows and pop down in 40 minutes or so.

Magic everything had disapeared and from now on it is the least of my worries, as far as the colour is on it can disapear. Apparently they massage the metal.

Stratstone leeds

Was it Stratstone,Leeds? They always need two attempts at the least to do the simplest job. Absolutely hopeless, Bradford branch might be a better bet, they would struggle to be worse. Hopefully MB H/O will log the number of botched jobs and take some action.

dont spray. The dent removers is the way forward, i has a small dent on the wing from a door a few years ago. after he had finished it was impossable to see even though the car was black and highly polished. there is no one more fussy than me truly you could look down the line of the car and there was nothing a bargin at £40

Ditto Stratstone Burnley.

I would't expect much better from Bradford either. I've only had one dealing with them via their Service Manager (David Naylor iirc ??), which was a complete disaster.
After months of being messed about I had to involve Mercedes-Benz UK to get to a resolution.
