recently the horns on my steering wheel have been going mental. If i touch any controls on the left of the wheel the horn sounds and especially when I'm in reverse. Anyone come across this before?.

I have recently changed my stock audio 10 head unit with an aftermarket version and added steering wheel can bus, which I thought might be the problem so disconnected it but still the same problem.

It sounds like you need to take a look what is going on inside the controls on the wheel. If its recently been disturbed for the above work then the problem likely lies there.

Possibly needs a new airbag module. Ours used to go off whenever turned a corner. Apparently its a known issue but not a cheap fix. About £600 if I remember correctly. Removing and refitting it provided short term relief for a few months.

Took it to a local Merc Specialist who said that it is a known fault, they fitted a Modified Air Bag Repair Kit. Now working perfectly total cost £118 :)
