E250 cgi 1.8 convertible
Hi everyone.
I got the problem on 2010 E250 petrol 1.8 convertible. Only faul code that comes up very rare, is P0087 FUEL RAIL PRESSURE COMMANDED NOT REACHABLE. I've changed the fuel rail pressure sensor, both fuel pumps. One of the fuel pumps had extremely bad fuel filter, 90% blocked. All parts genuine MB. Although, the car shakes on idle. When engaged in drive or reverse, shakes badly until break pedal released. Seems like paint will go off due the shaking. I have mention on idle 7 volts are present on 12 volts written on fuel pump.
Thanks in advance for anyone who can give any idea to check something else

Did an independent MB specialist suggest changing the parts?

Fault codes themselves are not always specific but can be pointers to faults elsewhere, just changing components in the hope of a cure can be an expensive exercise.

Thanks for reply. I've changed the parts by myself after reading many forums where people talking about fuel pressure sensors and fuel pumps. I'm fat to be a good mechanic but I was working 10 years in a garage and I have clue about that. I don't consider changing the pumps waste of money because the car has 60k miles and the fuel filter on jet pump was very bad, hard to understand how the car was drivable with fuel filter almost totally blocked. The fault code has come up again after rail fuel pressure sensor charged. After both fuel pumps charged no any fault code present, but how I said this happen very rare and I didn't have a chance for long journey to scan it again after. If I wouldn't have choice I'll quote MB to fix it, but I'd like to fix it by myself. A lady filled petrol instead of diesel and MB was asking for £1.200 to remove the petrol, changing fuel pump and fuel filter. I did it in the garage I used to work for £150 removing the petrol, 5L of diesel and new fuel filter. That's why I don't trust MB.

Which is why I suggested using an MB specialist and not an MB Main dealer, a specialist will have up to date and MB specific knowledge.

I'll do that. Thanks a lot. I don't mind to pay the right price if fixed fairly not cheating.
